An incident of intimidating of victims/witnesses occurred Jan. 13 in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A known female victim was to testify in a court proceeding against a known male suspect. The male suspect allegedly to coerce the victim into not doing so.
No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday along Skytop Mountain Road in Huston Township, Centre County. Vehicles being operated by Melanie R. Brungard, 47, of Julian and Richard J. Bartolomea, 66, of Port Matilda were traveling westbound with the Brungard vehicle behind the Bartolomea vehicle. Bartolomea slowed down for a right-hand turn, and Brungard failed to notice and subsequently rear-ended the Bartolomea vehicle. Brungard will be cited for traveling too closely.
The investigation is ongoing into an incident of harassment that occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday outside a private residence on Locust Street in Rush Township, Centre County. A known 55-year-old Philipsburg male allegedly pushed a 29-year-old Philipsburg male one time.
An incident of theft occurred sometime between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday at a private residence on South Second Street in Rush Township, Centre County. A person(s) entered the backyard at a 36-year-old Philipsburg woman’s residence and stole a Mongoose bicycle. The bicycle is valued at approximately $50. An incident of theft occurred sometime between 12:01 a.m. Feb. 15 and 12 a.m. March 1 at a business on Shady Lane in Rush Township, Centre County. A person(s) entered the parking lot to the rear of Diamondback Truck Covers and stole approximately 8,320 pounds of scrap metal from an attached 30-yard dumpster. An incident of public drunkenness occurred at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Ninth and Railroad streets in Rush Township, Centre County. A 51-year-old Philipsburg man was highly intoxicated and attempted to walk along Railroad Street. Witnesses observed the man fall to his back along the berm of the roadway and notified police. Charges of public drunkenness were filed through the district court.
No injuries were reported following a three-vehicle accident at 2:40 p.m. Thursday along state Route 350 south of Oak Street in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Sandy Ridge girl was traveling northbound when it collided with another driven by an 18-year-old Osceola Mills girl. The latter girl’s vehicle was then pushed into the rear of a 17-year-old Philipsburg boy’s vehicle. The girls’ vehicles sustained disabling damage, while the boy’s vehicle had minor damage to its rear bumper.
