Contract addresses three bridges—two on Route 729, one on Route 1011
CLEARFIELD –Rehabilitation work will get under way Monday for a Route 729 bridge in the village of Glen Hope. The bridge is located near the intersection of Route 453 and 729. Crews will be working to replace the superstructure (underlying support) of the bridge.
A detour will be in effect during the bridge work using Route 53 and Route 253/453.
PennDOT expects this bridge work to be complete by mid-June.
Crews will then move to a bridge on Route 1011near the intersection with Route 879 in the village of Hyde. That bridge will receive a new latex deck surface, with work slated to end this fall. Work will then shift back to Route 729 in Beccaria Township to replace the superstructure on a bridge near KF Wood Products.
All work is weather- and schedule-dependent. Cottles Maintenance of Everett of is the contractor on this $1.3 million contract. This work will improve the structural integrity and riding surface of the bridges and lengthen their useful life.
