CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man accused of assaulting a woman waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Matthew Kunkle, 29, is charged with two counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and related charges.
According to court documents, Kunkle was at the woman’s residence when an argument started. Kunkle is alleged to have put the woman in a headlock which choked her. Kunkle stopped choking her, but later grabbed her by the hair, dragging her to a corner of the home.
The investigating officer noted that the woman’s children were present during the alleged assault.
Kunkle was arrested on Jan. 16. He is currently being held in Clearfield County Jail.
