CLEARFIELD – Sometime next year, fisherman and other water recreation lovers should be able to haul their he to Lower Witmer Park in Clearfield Borough and place their boat in the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
The ability comes after the Clearfield Borough site was chosen above six others as the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to develop a boat launch there.
“We had to kick it off somewhere and we’re certainly glad it was in downtown Clearfield,” Pat Domico, marketing executive with the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce, said to council recently.
Kim McCullough of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources said, “We look forward to partnering with the other six sites.”
