Edward J. Aughenbaugh, 63, of Glen Richey died on Jan. 30, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on April 5, 1948 in Clearfield, a son of the late Raymond J. and Florence E. (Shubert) Aughenbaugh.
Mr. Aughenbaugh worked on electronics in his home, repairing all types of electronic equipment; a truly enjoyed area of expertise. He was previously employed at Oldsmobile in Lansing, MI and at the former Harbison Walker Refractory until its closing. He then became involved with Community Action, performing carpentry and electrical work at the CAST Building.
Mr. Aughenbaugh was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Bloom) Aughenbaugh, whom he wed on August 7, 1966 in Clearfield; three children, Edward J. Aughenbaugh, Jr. and wife Deborah of Virginia Beach, VA, Cindy L. Braxton and husband Paul of Sparta, NC and Lisa A. Aughenbaugh and husband Chris Beck of Clearfield; seven grandchildren, Edward J. III and Christina A. Aughenbaugh, Alex and Jennifer Bush, Robert Leigey Jr., Paul Holcomb II, and Krista Noel Beck; a sister and three brothers: Rosella Smeal and husband Al of Houtzdale, Ernest S. Aughenbaugh and wife Rebecca of St. John, MI; Frederick W. Aughenbaugh of Houtzdale; Robert W. Aughenbaugh of Glen Richey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Andrew Beck and a brother Raymond James Aughenbaugh.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ernest Simmers officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Lawrence Township Fire and Safety Department, 321 Mill Road, Clearfield. Â
