CLEARFIELD – The 11th annual Big Bash, a fundraiser for the Clearfield Soccer Association will be Feb. 11 at the Expo I Building at the Clearfield Fairgrounds.
Tickets are available in advance for a donation of $25. This year, there will be a limited number of tickets available the morning of Feb. 11 at the CSA’s spring registration at Jim’s Sports Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
“For the 11th annual Big Bash, we’re excited to once again have Serious Jones providing the entertainment” said Marikaye DeTemple, Big Bash coordinator. “Since last year’s Big Bash they have lessened their performing schedule, but were willing to once again help us with our fundraiser.”
There will also be a great selection of raffle and auction items that have graciously been donated by community members and area businesses, DeTemple said. Just by purchasing a ticket the person is automatically entered into the raffle drawing including cash prizes totaling $1,000. In addition, there is a chance to try and win special items in the silent auction.
“The great thing about the event is that it’s a celebration of all that we’ve accomplishing within the program and all that we hope and plan to accomplish in the coming year,” said Bob Aleksivich, President of the Clearfield Soccer Association. “It annually brings together community members, volunteers and our soccer parents to enjoy an evening out in good company supporting soccer in the Clearfield area.”
The money raised will go directly back into the soccer program, and allow us to go above and beyond the basic league play, Aleksivich said. The proceeds not only provide better training opportunities for our players and coaches, but also minimize cost for those families involved in both the indoor and outdoor aspects of the Clearfield Soccer Association.
“Additionally, with the funds we are able to annually award graduating high school seniors college scholarships,” Aleksivich said. “Overall, the support and generosity we receive through Big Bash grants us the ability to grow as an association by continuing to provide exceptional opportunities for our area soccer players year after year.”
Tickets are available at the Cellular Connection, Jim’s Sports Center, Zalno Jewelers and through any CSA board member. Tickets also available by contacting Marikaye at 814-553-2621.
