WINSLOW TOWNSHIP – Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at 4:15 p.m. Saturday along U.S. Route 119 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, the Dubois-based state police reported.
According to the accident report, Tresa C. Uplinger, 44, of Reynoldsville was traveling southbound, while another driven by John C. Ramsey, 49, of Reynoldsville was pulling out of the Sykesville Eagles’ lower parking lot. While attempting to exit the snow-covered parking lot, Ramsey lost control of his vehicle, as it entered the roadway.
At that point, his vehicle began to yaw and rotate in a counterclockwise direction. The Ramsey vehicle then crossed over into the southbound lane in front of the Uplinger vehicle.
The Uplinger vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane at or near the point of impact. After impact, the Ramsey vehicle traveled in a westerly direction for a short distance and came to a rest partially in the parking lot or yard area of the Eagles. Its rear, however, came to a rest partially in the southbound lane.
Both Ramsey and Uplinger suffered minor injuries and we wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Police were assisted by the Sykesville Borough Fire Department.
