PHILIPSBURG – A 42-year-old Houtzdale man is being held in Centre County Prison in lieu of bail after he was found to be in possession of drugs early Saturday morning.
A state trooper from the Philipsburg barracks observed Donald A. Spencer driving a vehicle with a broken tail light lens through Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. The trooper reported that Spencer committed several traffic violations before he was stopped at Peeble’s Plaza in Decatur Township.
Spencer was found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A search also revealed that Spencer was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Spencer was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Hoffman and was taken to prison in lieu of $25,000 straight bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
