CLEARFIELD – In a public meeting of the Lock Haven University Council of Trustees held on Thursday at the Clearfield Campus, a vote by the trustees was passed unanimously to arm LHU law enforcement officers.
The motion voted on reads as follows:
“Move that the university law enforcement officers, who have completed firearms training in accordance with 53 PA.C.S. Section 2167(A) be permitted to carry firearms on a full-time basis in the course of duty effective Jan. 1. Additionally, the university law enforcement officers be equipped, after completion of mandatory certification, with tazer guns, no later than Jan. 1, 2008.”
