Ruth I. Bowman, 88, of Clearfield, PA passed away on Nov. 15, 2011 at her home.
She was born on May 11, 1923 in Clearfield, the daughter of Lloyd and Pearl (Baney) Bailor.
Mrs. Bowman was retired as a Nurse’s Aide from the Clearfield Hospital.
She was Methodist by faith.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by four children; Donald L. Bowman of Kerr Addition, Kathryn R. Tibbens and her husband Robert M. Jr., of Frenchville, Julia A. Lewis and her husband Wilbur of Mineral Springs and Linda M. Peters and her husband James, Sr., of Mineral Springs; seventeen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters; Flora Arbanas of St. Petersburg, Fl.; Bessie Ziehl of Albion, NY; Barbara Dunlap of MN; Walter Bailor of Youngstown, NY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Lee Bowman whom she married in March 25, 1940 and who died on Sept. 1, 1995; a son, James Ronald Bowman; a grandson, Robert M. Tibbens III; two infant granddaughters; a great grandson Ryan John Ogden and six brothers; Harold, Richard, Bill, Tom, Bob and John Paul Bailor.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Nov. 17 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Nov. 17 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the services.
