GRASSFLAT – State police assisted Grassflat Fire Company in an investigation of a fire at the residence of William Dolby, 53 of Grassflat.
The fire occurred Wednesday and originated in a nearby shed. The fire spread to Dolby’s two-story home. State police Cpl. Thomas E. Josephson, fire marshal, stated the fire was accidental in nature, and was caused by an electrical malfunction.
Overall damage is estimated at $57,000.
Police report that many animals, including dogs, chickens and chicks perished in the fire.
