Clearfield– More volunteers took to the riverbanks Sunday to stock more than 5,000 trout into the Susquehanna.
Organized by the Old Town Sportsman Club and assisted by members of Curwensville Anglers and Mutton Hollow Outfitters, volunteers carried buckets of brown and rainbow trout fingerlings that were stocked directly into the river.
The stocking began at Moose Creek below the Raftsman’s Dam. The group obtained permission from businesses and private property owners to access the river using the R.J. Corman Road along the river behind CVS for the day of the stocking.
Volunteers will meet again on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Curwensville Lake to stock Walleye and the American eel, a former native species of the lake.
