John M. Petkac, 88, of Grassflat, passed away Sept. 13, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. at Mt. Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
John was born Dec. 15, 1922 at Grassflat, a son of the late Andrew G. and Anna (Mraz) Petkac.

He was a 1940 graduate of the former Cooper Township High School and worked as a supervisor of residence hall post offices at Penn State for 30 years.

He was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Grassflat and was a member of the Cooper Township Sportsmen’s Club and the Jednota First Catholic Slovak Union.

John is survived by his twin brother, Andrew C. Petkac and his wife Anna M. (Danko) Petkac of Grassflat. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters; Anne Buranovsky and Mary Urban; a brother, Joseph Petkac; a nephew, Ron Urban; and a great niece, Rachel Petkac.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Sept. 17 at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Grassflat. Fr. David A. Perry will be the celebrant.
