PIKE TOWNSHIP – A Curwensville man is facing charges after allegedly leading police on a chase that ended with him hitting a utility pole.
According to the state police in Clearfield, Spencer A. Campbell Jr., 47 of Curwensville, refused to stop and fled from police. A pursuit was initiated and Campbell struck a utility pole with his 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier. Police reported that Campbell was not wearing his seat belt and suffered minor injuries.
He was charged and arraigned on charges of fleeing to elude police, DUI and several traffic violations. He was placed in Clearfield County Jail.
Troopers were assisted by the Lawrence Township Police Department, Curwensville Borough Police Department and Clearfield Borough Police Department.
