CLEARFIELD – Central PA Community Action is opening a computer lab to the public for individuals to use on a walk-in basis during on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 – 3:30 and Fridays from 9 – 2:30. The Computer Lab will open starting Aug. 22.
Through Community Service Block Grant, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus funding, CPCA purchased 10 Dell laptop computers and accessories and one MAC laptop, a classroom projector, desk chairs, and a large screen TV, and software learning CD’s for various programs including Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), basic internet and E-mail training, and keyboarding. We  will also have resume building software to assist participants in building professional resumes and cover letters.
This computer lab will be open to the public, much like a library, for use in job searching, resume building and printing, and completing job applications. The lab will be in our Clearfield office near downtown on 214 East Cherry Street on the Second Floor. Entrance for the lab is on the alley off of Cherry Street. The location is near public transportation, and is situated in the downtown business corridor, making it the ideal location for the project.
If you would like further information about the computer lab, please contact Stacy LoCastro or Chris Wingate at 765-1551.
