HARRISBURG – State Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Clearfield/Elk) is reminding residents of DuBois and the surrounding area about the Aug. 17 public hearing being held by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to gather further input on the effects of both the geographic split and overlay options designed to ensure adequate numbering resources in the 814 area code.
“I’m very appreciative of the commission’s effort to conduct a significant number of hearings covering a wide geographic area,” Gabler said. “It is now the responsibility of those who will be impacted by the PUC decision to take advantage of this opportunity to voice their concerns and opinions.”
The meeting will take place at DuBois High School, 425 Orient Ave., DuBois, beginning at 6 p.m. Anyone wishing to speak at the hearings is asked to have a prepared written statement, bring copies of it and be aware of the possibility of being questioned.
“The PUC should be commended for suspending the timeline for implementation of area code relief, in order to allow for an additional round of public hearings,” added Gabler. “I encourage all residents to take advantage of this chance to have input on this issue.”
