CLEARFIELD – The Progress has received the Golden Broom Award for the month of July. The Golden Broom Award is a peer-to-peer program initiated by the Clearfield Revitalization Corporation, (CRC) to promote storefront and sidewalk cleanliness. The broom has been passed on by the Ritz Theater, which won the award during the month of June.
In addition to maintaining a clean and appealing storefront year-around, The Progress has participated in the CRC’s “Adopt-A-Tree Box Program.” They have taken initiative to mulch and plant flowers in the tree boxes in front of the building.
The Progress painted the window boxes on the building and planted fresh flowers. The CRC commends and congratulates The Progress for its dedication to maintaining the image of downtown Clearfield.
“The Progress is perfect for the Golden Broom Award. The flowers and tree boxes look great, and they always do a good job at keeping their storefront looking clean,” Bob Knepp of the Ritz Theater said.
Margie Krebs of The Progress said, “It is an honor to be recognized for keeping the storefront and town looking nice.”
