Two Julian residents were transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries following a motorcycle accident at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday along Beaver Road in Huston Township. John Edward Jones, 52 and his passenger, Christine R. Jones, 48, both of Julian, were traveling westbound at which time a deer entered into their path of travel. Jones attempted to maneuver his motorcycle into the eastbound lane to avoid striking the deer but wasn’t able to do so. His motorcycle struck the deer in the eastbound lane, and after impact, it traveled off the roadway into a ditch. Both he and his passenger were knocked from the motorcycle. Police were assisted by the Port Matilda Fire Company and Ambulance and Halfmoon Towing.
A person(s) smashed the right, rear side window of a 37-year-old Philipsburg woman’s vehicle sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday along North Centre Street. They also bent the radio antenna before fleeing the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Philipsburg-based state police at 814-342-3370.
