Dennis Q. “Denny” Neff, 77, of Clearfield, went to be with the Lord on July3, 2011 at 2:30 a.m. at his residence.
He was born on April 15, 1934 in Newburg, PA., the son of the late Quentin and Mildred (Hutton) Neff.
Mr. Neff had worked in carpentry, following in the footsteps of his father and retired from Beckwith Machinery after fifteen years of service.
Denny was very proud to have served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. (Greslick) Neff, whom he married on July 13, 1955 at the Curwensville Christian and Missionay Alliance Church, three children; twin daughters, Holly Wigfield and her husband Terry and Dolly Coll and her husband Dan, both of Clearfield and Dennis Q. Neff II and his wife Melissa of Curwensville, eight grandchildren; Stacy Nawrocki and her husband Steve, T.J. “Terry” Wigfield and his companion Mandy Billotte, Megan Beck and her husband Tim, Jennifer Milliron and her husband Scott, Eric Lippart and his fiancee Rachel Melnick, Daniel Coll, Quentin Neff and Lillian Neff, four great-grandchildren; Alexa and Kyla Alker, Dannilynn Wigfield and Lia Grace Nawrocki, two step-grandchildren; Michael and Robbie Coll, a step-grandchild, Connor Coll, a sister,Althea Darling and her husband Phil of Lutz, FL and a brother, Elmo Neff of Orlando, FL.
Denny was always thankful for his family and he was a loving provider and so proud of each and everyone of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Arden Kent Neff, a sister-in-law, Joan Neff and two nephews; Kevin and Greg Neff.
At the request of Mr. Neff there will be no public visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield with Rev. Hiram B. Westover officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 and Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No.1785 Honor Guard. Interment will be in LaJose Cemetery.
