CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 5, 2011. Shaw identified the Fugitive as Lawrence Gower, Jr., age 47, of Kylertown-Drifting Highway, Drifting.
Shaw stated that Gower is wanted for failure to appear at arraignment court on June 8, 2011.
On April 20, 2011, Lt. Todd E. Lombardo of the Morris-Copper Regional Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Gower with: 1) driving under the influence, M; and 2) maximum speed limits, S.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Lombardo states that on March 27, 2011, while on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Lombardo detected signs of impairment and requested that Gower perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Gower was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 18, 2011, at which time all charges were held for court. On June 8, 2011, Gower failed to appear for Arraignment Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
