David B. Bair, 73, a recent resident of Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield and formerly of Philipsburg and Mt. Joy, passed away on June 25, 2011 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Sept. 13, 1937 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Byron L. and Julia L. (Shaw) Bair.
His first marriage was on Sept. 18, 1958 in Cumberland, MD to Joan (Snyder) Bair, who died Aug. 10, 1998.
His second marriage was on Sept. 28, 1998 in Cumberland, MD to Barbara (Snyder) Bair, who survives of Philipsburg.
He is survived by six children:
John A. Snyder and his wife Annette of Harrisburg
Karen Swann and her husband David of Buffalo, NY
Barbara Kintzel and her husband Jim of Buffalo, NY
Susan Hollinger and her husband David of Ephrata
David Bair and his wife Linda of Bradenton, FL
Robert Bair and his wife Arlene of Mt. Joy
And 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his generation.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
He graduated from Philipsburg High School in 1955; he was a brick layer for Bethlehem Steele in Lackawanna, NY; he attended the New Life Center in Philipsburg and he was a veteran of the US Navy.
Funeral Services will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg on June 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John T. Dill and Rev. John Snyder officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on June 27 from 7-9 p.m. and on June 28 from 1 until 2 p.m.
