Teresa A. Valigorsky, 87, of Weedville died Friday at her residence.
Born on April 9, 1924 in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina (Viola) Maddalena. She was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Force.
She was a graduate of the Ridgway High School and later of the St. Vincent School of Nursing, Erie where she became a registered nurse.
She worked with her husband, Dr. Paul Valigorsky at the Force Clinic for many years until their retirement.
On Jan. 31, 1948 at St. Leo’s Roman Catholic Church in Ridgway, she married Dr. Paul J. Valigorsky, whom preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2008.
She’s survived by her daughter, Rebecca Bricen and her husband, John of Weedville and her son, Dr. P. Joseph Valigorsky II and his wife, Toni Cherry of DuBois.
Also surviving are two brothers, Dominic Maddalena of Newberry, SC and Chester Maddalena of Ridgway; two sisters, Mary Guarino and her husband, Joseph of Solvay, NY and Grace Vencl and her husbad, William of Chesterland, OH; four granddaughters, Bethany, Brittany and Brooke Bricen and Lee Grace Valigorsky and one grandson, Paul J. “Trip” Valigorsky III.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Jennings.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Force, with Fr. Thomas Tyler as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Force.
