Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 1:01 a.m. Thursday on North Brady Street and West Park Avenue. A vehicle was stopped for making an illegal left turn. The operator, a 28-year-old Texas man, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Charges are currently pending the results of blood tests.
Police reported a disturbance at 12:51 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West DuBois Avenue. Two men were reportedly arguing over a construction job. No charges were filed.
Police reported a single-vehicle accident at 7:41 a.m. Friday in the first block of East Second Avenue. An 18-year-old DuBois man was allegedly traveling too fast, when he left the roadway and struck a pole, causing damage to his 2008 Nissan 300Z. He wasn’t injured as a result of the accident.
Police reported an incident of fraud at 8:12 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Spring Avenue. A DuBois woman received a letter by mail, advising she’d won a shopping spree. There was a $1,970 check enclosed with instructions for her to cash and send the money via Western Union to the company. In return, they would provide her the information about the shopping spree. When she attempted to cash the check, the bank advised her that it wasn’t legitimate.
Police reported a disturbance at 12:52 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of West DuBois Avenue. A known man was allegedly intoxicated and struck a vehicle several times with his fist. The male left before the officers’ arrival. Charges will be filed.
Police reported alarms Saturday at Friedman’s Electric on Beaver Drive. Officers responded to two alarms during the afternoon hours. The building was found secure both times.
Police responded to a fight at 1:26 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. A DuBois man was allegedly assaulted by several known individuals. They left the area prior to police arrival. The victim refused to provide police with their names. He also refused medical treatment for the cuts to his face and mouth.
Police reported motor vehicle theft at 2:31 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue. A silver, 1998 Dodge Neon was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police reported an alarm at Tractor Supply at 2:58 a.m. Sunday. Everything was found to be OK.
Police reported a domestic at 8:17 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Washington Avenue. A DuBois woman and her boyfriend were allegedly arguing. No charges were filed.
Police reported a two-vehicle accident at 5:42 p.m. Monday on Railroad Avenue and Liberty Boulevard. A 1998 Chevrolet pick-up truck and a 2003 GMC sports utility vehicle collided at the intersection. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Police reported a single-vehicle accident at 6:36 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of South State Street. A DuBois woman parked her 2006 Mazda Sedan in front of her residence. The emergency brake was not activated, and it was either left in neutral, or jumped out of gear. A short time later, the vehicle drifted down a hill and struck a house. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
