University Park, Pa. — Sophomore middle hitter Nick Turko (Lewisberry, Pa.) was named the EIVA Tait Division Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Turko’s efforts against George Mason helped Penn State men’s volleyball team (20-5, 10-0 EIVA) remain undefeated in league play and capture its 27th EIVA/ECVL Championship title since 1976.
In the 3-0 sweep of George Mason in Penn State’s EIVA regular season finale, Turko finished second on the team with eight kills on 14 errorless swings for a .571 attack percentage. He totaled 12.0 points for the match after also contributed two aces and four blocks. For the match, Turko averaged 2.67 kills, 0.67 aces, 1.33 blocks and 4.00 points per set.

The Nittany Lions host nationally-ranked Ohio State in their final regular season home match on Sunday, April 10. Action is set for 5 p.m. at Rec Hall.
