PHILIPSBURG – Charges are pending against a 14-year-old Philipsburg-Osceola Jr. High School Student who reportedly took a shank to school.
According to the state police in Philipsburg, on March 24 the student had a homemade metal shank, about 4 inches in length, in his backback. He had the backpack in his locker during the school day and never took out the weapon. Police said he lost the shank on the school bus the next morning. The bus company contacted the school on March 29. The student later admitted that the weapon was in his backpack on March 24.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against the student.
