DUBOIS – Ever since the first photograph was captured, the preservation and restoration of the original has become a major top of discussion.
The DuBois Area Historical Society will bring this issue into the 21st century during its March 16 program, “Photoshopping Your Old Photos.”
Sean Craig will present the program, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the E.D. Reitz Museum, 28 West Long Ave., in DuBois. The program is free and open to the public.
Craig, an art teacher at the DuBois Area High School, grew up in Altoona and went to private art lessons throughout elementary and high school.
After high school, he earned a degree in illustration and graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He received his art education degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he focused on digital art and photography.
He has worked as a designer for 10 years and taught art for five years. He teaches graphic arts using computers, and his students learn how to syndicate photos, illustrate a maxim using photos and restore old photographs through new computer technology.
Here, his presentation goal is to show others how they can preserve old photographs.
