UNIVERSITY PARK – President Barack Obama’s visit to the Penn State University Park campus has been rescheduled to Thursday, Feb. 3, due to inclement weather.
As part of the administration’s strategy to win the future through new investments in research and development, the Department of Energy has launched Energy Innovation Hubs across the nation. Penn State will provide overall leadership for the Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster for energy-efficient buildings that will be located at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.
While at Penn State, the President will tour labs focused on energy-efficient building solutions and deliver remarks on the importance of investing in innovation and clean energy to put people back to work, grow the economy, and win the future.
The mid-day visit by the president may cause delays in traffic or pedestrian flow at certain times of the day, as well as possible rerouting and building closures on campus. Some classes also may be affected. In addition, the road leading to the University Park Airport will be closed for a short period of time and access to the airport will be restricted. Access to some buildings surrounding Rec Hall and other parking areas also may be restricted for security reasons. More information can be found at http://live.psu.edu/story/51070 online.
