CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., announced today that the Pennsylvania State Police have assembled a major case team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly Brisbin woman.
At this time, Shaw indicated that the cause of death appears to be natural. However, Shaw noted “there are one or two issues that need resolved for a clear understanding of how this death occurred”. Shaw stated that he was “confident that the state police would have this matter resolved in the very near future”.
Shaw also stated that an autopsy is being conducted and the results will answer several questions law enforcement has concerning this case. Shaw anticipates the autopsy to be completed this morning.
Shaw stated that these types of incidents have the ability to generate speculation and rumors within the community and hopes this information will resolve public concern.
Shaw encourages everyone to be aware of senior citizens living in their neighborhood. With frigid temperatures, Shaw stated that it’s always a good idea for neighbors to watch out for senior citizens and make an effort to check-in with others in the neighborhood from time-to-time.
Shaw stated that anyone with concerns for the safety and well-being of a senior citizen in their neighborhood should contact their local police department or the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging at 1-800-225-8571 or (814) 765-2696.
