CLEARFIELD – Gene Kephart, Executive Director of Cen-Clear Child Services Inc. is pleased to announce that the agency was selected by Gov. Edward G. Rendell from among Head Start programs in Pennsylvania to be nominated as a “Center for Excellence.”
As a result of this nomination, Cen-Clear is eligible to compete for one of ten federal designations. Rendell informed the agency that the nomination was awarded on the basis of innovative practices in delivering early education services as well as the ongoing partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning in the required areas for quality improvement, sound partnerships, and comprehensive programming. This included participation in the Early Learning Network, staff competency through a focus on credentialing, salaries and other vital support for this work, and participation in collaborative systems oversight through the Early Learning Council and its various committees.
According to Kephart, “Cen-Clear is extremely honored to be nominated by Governor Rendell in recognition for our work with children and families. We are particularly pleased because the nomination coincides with the 30th anniversary of the founding of this agency.”
