CLEARFIELD – Three women accused of burglarzing a deceased woman’s apartment waived their rights to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Candace Wisor of West Decatur and Jacquelyne Ambruski face charges of:Â criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary, criminal trespass/theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. Phippin faces an additional count of burglary and do. Amanda Phippin of Olanta faces the same charges as above with two exceptions: an additional count of burglary and she was not charged with criminal trespass.
According to court documents, police met with relatives of the deceased woman on Sept. 10, 2010. Officers learned that the woman had passed away on Sept. 6, 2010. Police viewed video footage of the three suspects entering the High Rise apartment in Clearfield. A short time later, police observed Phippin and her mother, Ambuski, leaving the residence with a laptop and other items, such as purses and jewelry.
The items reported missing included: a Gateway laptop, jewelry, a Compaq laptop, purses, shoes and a coffee maker.
Police made contact with Phippin who reportely admitted to removing the laptop and other items. Phippin told police that Wisor walked out of hte apratment with nothing in her hands on purpose and that it was a point of contention later between the two.
She provided a written statement to police, stating that she entered the apartment on many occassions with Wisor while the woman was in Mt. Laurel recovering from a fall. Phippin wrote that both she and Wisor had keys, and that Wisor worked for a health aide service.
On Sept. 21, 2010 Wisor went to the police station for an interview. She related that she did take a laptop and a cross necklace. She stated that the woman had told her she would have.
