CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners on Tuesday addressed various items of business.
The commissioners:
- approved the county’s application for the Indigent Defense Grant pending the solicitor’s review. This is a new non-competitive, formula-based grant program for improving indigent defense services, which provide legal representation for those who cannot afford it by helping ensure public defenders have the resources to provide constitutionally-required legal defense for adult and juvenile ‘indigent’ defendants. Funds are being made available through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
- approved an extension to their agreement with LexisNexis for the Clearfield County Prison.
- recognized May 19-25 as EMS Week; May 12 -18 as National Police Week; and May 4 as International Firefighter Day.
- proclaimed the week beginning May 6, 2024 as National Correctional Officers Week.
- proclaimed the week beginning May 19, 2024 as National Nursing Home Week.
- approved the personnel report consisting of three new hires, three employee separations/retirements and one employee leave of absence.
- approved the minutes from the April 30 board meeting as presented by the chief clerk.
- approved the bills as presented by the Controller’s office.
