CLEARFIELD – Dave Glass was appointed president of the Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors at Monday night’s reorganizational meeting.
Glass previously served as the board’s vice president. He was unanimously approved by the board.
Both Larry Putt and Mary Anne Jackson were nominated for the vice president position. Putt was approved by a 5-4 vote.
Board member Dr. Michael Spencer made a motion to nominate Putt. His motion was seconded by board member Tim Morgan.
Board member Phil Carr then nominated Jackson. His motion was seconded by board member Susan Mikesell.
Glass, Morgan, Putt, Spencer and Jennifer Wallace all voted in favor of Putt. Carr, Jackson, Mikesell and Rick Schickling voted for Jackson.
Prior to the nominations, Jackson, Schickling, Spencer and Wallace were sworn into office by Tim Morgan, who was approved as the temporary board president at the start of the meeting.
The board approved the following meeting schedule for 2009-10. All meetings are set for 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Dec. 14 – combined committee and board meeting due to the Christmas holiday; Jan. 18 – committee meeting; Jan. 25 – board meeting; Feb. 15 – committee meeting; Feb. 22 – board meeting; March 15 – committee meeting; March 22 – board meeting; April 19 – committee meeting; April 26 – board meeting; May 17 – committee meeting; May 24 – board meeting; June 21 – committee meeting; June 28 – board meeting; July 19 – combined committee and board meeting; Aug. 16 – committee meeting; Aug. 23 – board meeting; Sept. 20 – committee meeting; Sept. 27 – board meeting; Oct. 18 – committee meeting; Oct. 25 – board meeting; Nov. 15 – combined committee and board meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday; and Dec. 6 – reorganizational meeting.
The board also accepted the resignation of Kristie Young, human resource coordinator, at Monday’s meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Richard C. Makin said Young had been with the district two-and-a-half years. He said she accepted a position with the Central Intermediate Unit #10.
