HYDE – Members of three area police departments faced a tense situation involving a gunman over the weekend.
According to the Lawrence Township Police Department they responded to the 1300 block of Clarendon Avenue in Hyde for possible gunshots. Responding officers made contact with the male who threatened to shoot police officers then himself. Officers were able to talk the man into throwing his gun outside. After doing that he attempted to reenter the residence but was stopped by police officers and taken into custody.
