State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a motor vehicle theft March 17 on Dogwood Drive in Graham Township. According to a station news release, the victim indicated a male—later identified as 24-year-old Caleb Perks of Morrisdale—stole his truck. Because it was equipped with a tracking device, troopers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a felony traffic stop. Perks was taken into custody and now faces numerous criminal and traffic offenses through the district court in Kylertown.
- In February state police received a report of a theft that happened on Grandview Road in Penn Township. According to a station news release, an urn containing ashes was taken from Friends Cemetery. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is urged to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
Clearfield Regional
- Police conducted a warrant service that resulted in a drug violation March 16 on the Clearfield Riverwalk. According to a department-issued news release, officers located 57-year-old Robert E. Litzinger, who was wanted by Pennsylvania State Parole for a violation. He was subsequently taken into custody and allegedly found in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Litzinger was housed in county jail and charges were filed through the district court.
- Police reported a DUI occurred March 15 on North Front Street in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, officers were on patrol when a vehicle was observed traveling north when this section of roadway is one-way and designated for southbound traffic only. During a traffic stop, the driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. They were taken to Clearfield Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw and charges are currently pending at this time.
