CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors handled personnel matters within its code enforcement office on Tuesday.
The supervisors voted to approve the separation of Debra Finkbeiner as code enforcement officer, effective March 17.
The supervisors also voted to appoint Barbara Shaffner as assistant zoning officer as well as all three supervisors as assistants until a replacement can be found.
It was noted that the township has advertised for a code enforcement officer.
In other business, Roadmaster Ron Woodling received a request to close Hemlock Hollow Road for stream clean-up, which the supervisors approved.
Bids were received and opened for 2RC limestone from Woodland Equipment & Supply and Bucktail Excavators.
The supervisors subsequently voted to approve the bid from Woodland Equipment & Supply.
The supervisors also voted to advertise an opening on the township’s Rec Park board.
Under police, Chief Doug Clark reported that there were 1,047 incidents handled by the Lawrence Township Police Department for the month of March.
These included but were not limited to traffic stops, criminal arrests, DUIs, drug arrests, court appearances, warrants and accident investigations.
Officer Nathan Lash was also chosen for Officer of the Month, Clark said.
The supervisors added an agenda item because Terry Morgan, of the fire police, had suggested that each fire company have their own fire police per station.
Supervisors Jeremy Ruffner and Randy Powell said that they would look into the matter and Powell suggested a fire police meeting in the near future since they were due for one.
