HUSTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – One woman was seriously injured after a one-vehicle crash occurred in Huston Township on Tuesday morning.
According to DuBois-based State Police, the accident happened around 7:28 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, on Mud Run Road, in Huston Township, Clearfield County, involving 49-year-old Amy Chnupa, of Clearfield.
Police say Chnupa was traveling east on Mud Run Road in a 2013 Ford Focus, and she lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the road head-on into a tree.
The impact caused the vehicle to continue a short distance east and spin 180 degrees. The vehicle came to a final rest facing west off the side of Mud Run Road.
Chnupa was flown by Stat Medevac to UPMC Altoona with suspected serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries. She had to be extricated from her vehicle.
She was using a seatbelt.
She was cited with a speed violation.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Bigler Boyz Towing, Penfield Volunteer Fire Department, and Stat Medevac assisted at the scene.
