CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department is warning garage owners in the Clearfield about a scam that targets them specifically.
According to police someone is calling local garages and requesting usage of a tow vehicle. They provide a credit card number and request that the garage keep $1,000 and then send them back $2,500 for the driver to tow their vehicle.
Police would like to remind the public that if you are asked to send money in return for any reason it is more than likely a scam.
