CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Municipal Authority members Tuesday learned that both Clearfield Borough and Lawrence Township have approved the draft agreements for CMA to take over their sewer lines and the next step should happen quickly.
Solicitor John Ryan said that the next step is to have the official agreements signed. The borough and township will have to pass resolutions as well and also ordinances.
Ryan said that they will need to do an assignment of easements and he is looking into having one blanket document created instead of a list of the hundreds of easements and right-of-ways involved.
After these things are done, the authority will need to have the Pennsylvania Investment and Infrastructure loans signed over to the authority.
The board also learned that there was a sanitary sewer overflow event March 1 at the Hyde SSO.
Engineer Jim Balliet of Gwin, Dobson and Foreman said 303,000 gallons were bypassed between 3 a.m. And 5:30 p.m. and a report was submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection.
