FLINTON – The Glendale Lady Vikings girls basketball team won for the fourth time in its last five games on Saturday in defeating the visiting Curwensville Lady Tide by a score of 39-25 in a Moshannon Valley League game.
The home victory has Glendale standing at 4-2 on the season.
It was one of those games where the Lady Tide hung around in the first half, trailing by just four, 19-15, going into halftime.
Then the third and fourth quarters were not favorable for Curwensville as Glendale outscored the Lady Tide 14-8 in the third and 6-2 in the fourth to pull out the win.
Curwensville was paced on the offensive end by Joslynne Freyer with 15 points.
The Lady Vikings picked up 19 points from Kyla Vereshack, which included four three-pointers on the afternoon.
From the free throw line the Lady Tide hit only five of 15 attempts with Glendale connecting on six of 12 from the charity stripe.
There was no junior varsity game.
The Lady Tide (4-6) are on the road again Monday night with a trip to Philipsburg-Osceola High School to play the Lady Mounties.
Curwensville defeated the Lady Mounties last Thursday, at Curwensville, 44-21.
