CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville boys basketball squad returned to action for its first game since last Friday with a loss to the Rockets of Southern Huntingdon, 69-34, on their home court Thursday night.
The Rockets evened its season record at 2-2 with a very strong first half against the Tide, leading 21-6 after the opening period and then upping the margin to 38-13 at the break.
Curwensville put forth somewhat of a better effort in the second half, but still fell short 31-21 to Southern Huntingdon.
The Tide’s Trevor Lansberry led all scorers on the night with 18 points while teammate Scott Condon added 10.
Southern Huntingdon had four players in double figures paced by Riley Snyder with 16 while Owen Winter and Nate Myers each chipping in with 12. Ethan Taylor had 10 points.
There was no junior varsity game.
Curwensville’s game with DuBois Central Catholic on Friday night has been postponed due to covid-19 issues.
The next scheduled game for the Golden Tide, now 1-6, is scheduled for Tuesday with a home game against DuBois Central Catholic.
