HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that there were 9,643 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state-wide total to 834,048.
According to the department’s Web site, Clearfield County has had 5,522 (+37) total cases since March and 97 deaths (+2) while 16,338 people have tested negative for the virus. Of those cases, 4,319 are confirmed and 1,203 are probable.
There are 3,586 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, and state health officials say, of that number, 699 patients are in the intensive care unit.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. More data is available here.
The department also reported 159 new deaths attributed to COVID-19, bringing Pennsylvania’s death toll to 21,462. Eighty-one (81) percent of patients have recovered from the virus.

There are 3,611,366 individuals who have tested negative state-wide to date.
State health officials remind that mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home, and is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
