State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred Dec. 9 on Old Valley Road in Boggs Township. During the incident, someone allegedly forcefully entered the victim’s garage and removed a Suzuki King Quad all-terrain vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred sometime between Nov. 29 and Dec. 8 in the area of Eliza and Brisbin streets in Houtzdale Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly forcibly entered the victim’s residence. Nothing was taken. Anyone with information is asked to call 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Dec. 6 on Irvin Street in Brisbin Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a loaded pistol from the victim’s car while it was parked along the roadway. The investigation is ongoing.
- State police received a report of retail theft that occurred Dec. 5 at the Dollar General store on State Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, a male allegedly attempted to conceal underwear and leave the store. The underwear was valued at $5.
- State police received a report about criminal mischief that occurred Dec. 5-6 on Sportsman’s Road in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged the victim’s fence. Anyone with information is asked to call 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about an assault Nov. 18 in Irvona Borough. According to state police, 47-year-old John Ruffaner of Coalport stopped his vehicle on Maple Street, and this didn’t allow another vehicle to move forward. That vehicle was occupied by four people from Integrity Construction. Ruffaner exited his vehicle and allegedly waved a handgun while yelling and putting the individuals in fear of serious bodily injury. Charges have been filed through the district court.
- State police reported a drug-related incident occurred Nov. 29 on the Morrisdale – Allport Highway in Morris Township. During a traffic stop, an 18-year-old Osceola Mills woman allegedly was found in possession of a controlled substance. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Dec. 2-3 on Hill Street in Chester Hill Borough. Charges have been filed against 47-year-old Shawn Maines of Morrisdale as a result.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported a DUI crash occurred Dec. 7 in the area of Route 153 and Flegal Road in Lawrence Township. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Clearfield man traveled off the right side of the roadway, crossed the median strip and traveled through a wooded area near Herring’s Veterinary Clinic. It reportedly impacted several trees, traveled into a small creek and overturned onto its roof. The driver was taken to Clearfield Penn Highlands for treatment; his vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. DUI and related charges are pending at this time.
