CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District board of directors held its reorganizational meeting on Wednesday night via a Zoom video conference.
The board voted unanimously to reselect Larry Putt as its board president and Greg Clarke as its vice president for 2021.
It will follow the same meeting schedule as in past years. Committee meetings will be held on the third Monday and voting meetings on the fourth Monday of every month.
All meetings will begin at 6 p.m. in the library of the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School, and each can be used as a voting meeting, if it becomes necessary. The board’s 2021 meeting schedule is as follows:
Committee meetings will be held on Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, Oct. 18 and Nov. 15.
Voting meetings will be held on Jan. 25, Feb. 22, March 22, April 26, May 24, June 28, July 26, Aug. 23, Sept. 27, Oct. 25 and Nov. 22. The board will hold its reorganizational meeting Dec. 1.
In other business, the board:
- approved Beard Legal Group as solicitor. There were no changes in rates from last year to this year.
- approved Kayla Caragein as board secretary.
- approved board member Phil Carr as the district’s representative to the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center’s Joint Operating Committee.
- approved board member Shawna Rothrock as the district’s representative on the Central Intermediate Unit No. 10 board.
- approved payment of bills as they become due subject to fund availability. Copies of all bills will be available at the board’s January meeting.
- approved its Act 1 Resolution to not raise the rate of any school district tax for the 2021-22 fiscal year by more than its adjusted index of 4.1 percent, as calculated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
