PENFIELD – The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Parker Dam State Park announces that the park beach will remain open until dusk on Sept. 20.
“For our visitors that enjoy the beach, the swimming season has been extended through September 20, 2009,” stated Park Manager Beth Rosevear Grove. “We ask that patrons please abide by the posted open swim rules.”
Swimming area lines will be pulled, for the season, on Sept. 21. Grove stated that swimming will not be permitted after the 20th until Memorial Day Weekend 2010.
The sand beach will be open after the swimming area closes for patrons wishing to walk or play on the sand. After Sept. 20, the exterior foot washes and fountains will be turned off for winterizing. Portions of the beach house will also close for the season.
