WEST DECATUR- Central Intermediate Unit 10 in partnership with IU 9 received a $994,834 grant to provide video conferencing, interactive STEM equipment, computers and networking equipment to 25 elementary schools, 13 middle schools and one high school which will serve a total of 14,149 students.
The districts receiving equipment from this grant include: Bald Eagle Area, Bellefonte Area, Bradford Area, Clearfield Area, Curwensville Area, Glendale, Harmony Area, Keystone Central, Moshannon Valley, Philipsburg-Osceola Area, Smethport Area, West Branch Area, Central IU 10 and Seneca Highlands IU 9.
Last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded $2.7 million in grants to help rural residents in Pennsylvania gain access to health care and educational opportunities.
“This grant will have a long-lasting impact on the education of our students and will be an important component in preparing them for college and career readiness. It will enable teachers to collaborate and communicate without the barriers of distance,” Dr. Francine Endler, executive director, CIU 10.”
