DUBOIS – Right-to-know requests were a topic of discussion at Monday night’s DuBois City Council meeting.
According to Solicitor Toni Cherry, the city receives and has received over the years a good number of RTK requests.
She asked council if they would like to start hearing RTK requests and their responses at the public meetings. Cherry said she felt some requests would be of public interest.
Currently, Cherry said council receives the RTK requests and their responses as part of their meeting packets. This information, however, hasn’t been revealed publicly, except to the requestor.
She said if council would “go public” with some requests, it may decrease multiple requests for the same information.
In other business, council heard the second and final reading of Council Bill No. 1947, which prohibits the use of jake and engine brakes within DuBois City.
Council also awarded the 2020 street paving bid to New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. The bid totaled $352,712.70.
The Intake Structure (DuBois Reservoir gatehouse) rehabilitation project was awarded to BCS Construction Inc. at a base bid totaling $487,190.
Council noted that all the optional alternative additions would have raised the price to $557,300.
