BECCARIA TOWNSHIP – One man is dead following a fatal all-terrain vehicle crash Sunday in Beccaria Township, Clearfield County.
According to state police at Clearfield, the crash occurred at 12:24 p.m. on Shortcut Road, 361 feet south of Mason Lane, while the ATV was traveling north and towing a Honda four-wheeler.
State police say the two ATVs were hooked by a cable and Jeffrey A. Noel, 54, of Coalport put the four-wheeler into gear. This caused his ATV to overturn – back to front – and land on top of him.
Noel was transported by ambulance to UPMC Altoona where he later succumbed to the head and chest injuries that he sustained in the crash.
State police say that the operator of the Polaris ATV was not injured as a result of the crash. Troopers were assisted by the Glendale Volunteer Fire Co. and Irvona Emergency Medical Services.
