MARTINSBURG – It was not a very good road trip for the Clearfield girls basketball team on Monday night to Martinsburg to play Central in a Mountain League game.
The Lady Dragons shutout the Lady Bison over the first eight minutes 16-0 on its way to a 66-22 romp.
Clearfield did find some offense n the second quarter, scoring 11 points, but also gave up 22 to be down at the half 38-11.
In the second 16 minutes after the intermission Central held a 28-11 edge to come up with the win and move to 16-5 on the season.
Megan Durandetta paced the Lady Bison offense with nine points.
The Lady Dragons had three ladies with double digits on the night led by 20 points from Erin Brumbaugh. Bailey Heuston added 19 and Kyley Metzger scored 13.
In the junior varsity game it was Central coming up with the victory over Clearfield by a score of 48-28. Riley Ryen had 15 points for Clearfield.
The Lady Bison, overall 5-16 and 4-9 in league play, finish the season with a Wednesday night home game against visiting Bellefonte. The JV game starts at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
Bellefonte defeated Clearfield earlier in the 2019-20 season, 60-38, on the Lady Red Raiders home floor.
