Ridgway Knocks Off The Lady Tide 30-18

CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Lady Tide basketball team fell to 2-2 on the 2019-20 season with a home loss on Wednesday night against visiting Ridgway in Patton Hall, 30-18.

The Lady Tide were in the game, trailing just 10-7 at the intermission, until a disastrous third quarter
all but dashed their hopes for a victory.

Ridgway owned the third quarter against Curwensville, 16-3, to jump out to a 26-10 margin heading into the fourth quarter.

Although the Lady Tide won the final eight minutes, 8-4, it wasn’t enough to counter the Lady Elkers’ big third quarter advantage.

High scorer for the Lady Elkers was Gabby Rohr with 12 tallies while Curwensville had Briana Swindell lead the way with five points.

The junior varsity game was also won by the Lady Elkers, dumping the Lady Tide 35-6.

The Lady Tide are now off until Friday, December 27, when they host Clearfield at Patton Hall in Curwensville. JV action tips off at 6 pm with the varsity battle to immediately follow.
