Donald Paul Poorman, 69, of Sagamore died Thursday at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Born June 29, 1941 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Paul C. and Mary B. (Maney) Poorman. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Elks Club and American Legion, both of Delaware, and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Poorman was a 1959 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School and a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Army Reserve. He was retired from the United States Postal Service in Newark, DE, where he was a mail carrier.
On Dec. 19, 1984 in Elkton, MD, he married Donna L. (Butler) Poorman, who survives at home.
He was preceded in death by parents and son John Poorman.
He is survived by three sons, Donald Poorman and his wife, Lynn of Rising Sun, MD; Norman Poorman and his wife, Cheri of New Haven, CT; and Leif Poorman of Norcross, GA; and one daughter, Deborah Simpers and her husband, Wayne of Oxford.
In addition he is survived by two brothers, Robert J. Poorman and his wife, Linda of Elkton, MD and Richard L. Poorman and his wife, Faye of Whitman, AZ; two sisters, Carol Ludwig and her husband, David of Bridgeville, DE and Patricia Foley and her husband, Jack      of Philipsburg; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Monday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, with the Rev. Dennis McCracken officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus, where full military honors will be conducted by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
